Scholarship Application

2026 FFCU Scholarship

Fremont Federal Credit Union will award a total of $20,000 in scholarships to graduating high school seniors. Applicants and/or their parent or legal guardian must be a member of Fremont Federal Credit Union in good standing as of January 1, 2025.

Selection Criteria
Applicants will be evaluated based on the following:

  1. Academic Performance (minimum cumulative GPA of 2.50)
  2. School Involvement and Leadership
  3. Community Involvement and Service
  4. Completion of all required application questions and materials

Application Requirements & Submission Instructions
To be considered, applicants must complete all required sections of the scholarship application and submit all supporting documentation by the stated deadline.

Required Materials
Applicants muyst submit:

  • A completed, typed application
  • Two letters of recommendation:
    • One from a school representative
    • One from a non-school source (employer, volunteer supervisor, or organization leader)
  • An official or counselor-verified high school transcript
  • Any additional documentation requested during the review process
  • Participation in an interview with the Scholarship Committee, if selected

Submission Deadline
All application materials must be received by April 1, 2026.
Late or incomplete applications will not be considered.

Selection & Eligibility

  • Applications will be reviewed by the Scholarship Committee.
  • The decision of the Scholarship Committee is final.
  • Students of Fremont Federal Credit Union employees and Board Members are not eligible.

Important Notice

Applicants are responsible for ensuring that all required materials (including recommendation letters and transcripts) are submitted by the deadline. Fremont Federal Credit Union is not responsible for missing or late documents.

AGREEMENT

By submitting this application, I acknowledge and agree to the following:   

  • I understand that this scholarship application and all supporting materials become the property of Fremont Federal Credit Union and will not be returned.
     
  • I agree that Fremont Federal Credit Union shall have discretionary authority, including publicity and recognition, in all matters pertaining to this scholarship.
     
  • I certify that the information provided in this application is complete and accurate to the best of my knowledge. I understand that providing false or misleading information may result in disqualification. I will notify Fremont Federal Credit Union of any changes to my application information.
     
  • I understand that scholarship funds will be paid directly to the recipient’s educational institution, not to the student, and may be used only for qualified educational expenses as determined by the school.
     
  • I understand that scholarship funds may not be substituted for cash, gift cards, prepaid cards, refunds, or any other form of direct payment to the student, regardless of personal financial need or circumstance.
     
  • I acknowledge that it is the recipient’s responsibility to understand how outside scholarships may impact other financial aid or scholarships awarded by their educational institution. Fremont Federal Credit Union is not responsible for any reduction, adjustment, or cancellation of other financial aid resulting from this scholarship.
     
  • I understand that all required school and payment information must be submitted by June of the scholarship year. If the required information is not received by this deadline, the scholarship will be considered null and void and may be reassigned at the discretion of Fremont Federal Credit Union.
     
  • I understand that failure to enroll, failure to provide required documentation, or failure to meet deadlines may result in forfeiture of the scholarship, and Fremont Federal Credit Union reserves the right to reassign the award.
     
  • I acknowledge that eligibility for this scholarship is limited to students attending high schools within Sandusky, Ottawa, Seneca, Wood, Lucas, Hancock, or Fulton County.

 

  • Please state the names of your parents/guardians and the account number under which you are associated with.
Scholarship recipients will be recognized at Fremont Federal Credit Union’s Annual Meeting in May. Recipients will be notified of the specific date once it is finalized. (Account numbers will not be published.)
