REACHREACH Program poster

The REACH career education program,  sponsored by the Chamber of Commerce of Sandusky County, now in its fourteenth year, is designed to introduce area upper-elementary school students to the “world of work” by providing Consultants from Business Partner Chamber members who visit schools on a monthly basis to discuss the types of jobs available at their companies and to present lessons designed to encourage them to develop life skills that will assist in preparing them to join the workforce in the future.

Consultants utilize a curriculum book developed by the education department of The Ohio State University – Marion, to present a series of lessons, reinforced by hands-on activities that include as a highlight a visit to the Business Partner's place of business.

Some 7,100 fourth and fifth grade students throughout Sandusky County have benefited from the REACH program since its launch in seven classrooms at Green Springs School in 2003. For the 2016-2017 school year, over 825 students in 35 classrooms in 13 schools are being “reached” by Consultants from 28 Business Partners!

Relay for LifeRelay for Life 2011 Participants

Relay for Life logo, American Cancer SocietyTeam FFCU has raised thousands of dollars by doing many fundraisers throughout the years for the American Cancer Society. The American Cancer Society Relay for Life is a life-changing event that gives everyone in communities across the globe a chance to celebrate the lives of people who have battled cancer, remember loved ones lost, and fight back against the disease. This is our opportunity to not only honor cancer survivors and remember people we have lost, but also to raise funds and awareness to help save lives. By supporting this organization, we are creating a world where cancer can't claim another year of anyone's life. This is a time to help create a world with less cancer and more birthdays!

Annual Fremont Federal Credit Union Car Shows

Fremont Federal CU Car ShowBuilding a sense of community is our goal! Every year, in conjunction with the Ralph’s Joy of Living Farmer’s Market, we sponsor four Annual Car Shows from June thru September held downtown on Front Street. All car enthusiasts are invited to bring their pride and joy downtown to participate in this event. Dash plaques and prizes are awarded. Watch the papers and save the date in June and plan on visiting Downtown Fremont where there will be cars, food and, of course, great shopping available for all to enjoy.

Ralph’s Joy of Living Farmer’s Market takes place rain or shine on Front Street the third Saturday of each month from June through October beginning at 9:00 a.m. and additional markets in July and October. Many local Ralph's Farmer Marketvendors participate in this community event and offer a large variety of items including seasonal fruits and vegetables, baked goods, herbs, jams, perennials, fresh cut flowers, prepared food and much more. Come on down; the Market has something for everyone!

Finances 101: Walk the walk, Talk the talk  Finances 101

Fremont Federal Credit Union is proud to partner with other credit unions from the Northwest Chapter of the Ohio Credit Union League to present Finances 101 several times a year to area high school students.  During a session of Finances 101, students travel around a life-sized game board to get a feel for what the "real world" is like.  Some of life's choices lie in the draw of a card, roll of the dice or spin of the wheel.  Others are choices the student make for themselves. During the game, students may have to pay for a fender bender, have Uncle Vito visit and eat them out of house and home or win money in the lottery. Uncertainty lies around every corner, along with opportunities to make sound financial decisions.

High school students learn about:

  • Earning a wage and paying bills
  • What it costs to run a household
  • How earnings affect buying decisions
  • Adult responsibilities

At FFCU, we believe that financial education is the best way to help achieve financial success. Finances 101 is just one of the ways we help educate members of our community.
